How Often Do You Actually Need to Clean Your Gutters?
Figuring out how often gutters need to be cleaned isn't actually that easy to determine as it really does depend. As a rule of thumb think of twice a year in Mandurah, Falcon and Surroundings. Around springtime cleaning is pretty useful for getting rid of the gunk winter storms leave behind, while autumn, obviously, tackles all those leaves that inevitably pile up. In summer it can be important in areas that have a higher risk at bushfires as leaves in gutters are known to be a fire hazard.
If you happen to live in a spot surrounded by trees —especially pines or any other messy ones that constantly shed leaves and seeds—you'll probably want to check more often. Up to every three months to be safe.
If you're not big on scheduling or planning, at least keep an eye out for some warning signs. Things like gutters overflowing when it rains, obvious leaves and debris sticking out of the gutter, sagging sections, plants or moss randomly sprouting, or even peeling paint could mean you’ve got issues.
At John James Gutter Cleaning we also do inspections to see how often you require your gutters to be cleaned. At the end of the day, regular gutter cleaning isn’t glamorous, but it's smart. Sticking a regular schedule is your best bet for avoiding bigger problems later on.
